Yesterday the Smithers Hospital received a cheque for 90 thousand dollars to go to a new CT Scanner.
The money was raised through the Smithers Golf Tournament.
This tournament is a yearly event that brings in big names including hometown kid Dan Hamhuis who currently plays for the Dallas Stars in the NHL.
JC Brown is the Co-Chair of the Golf Tournament and he says the numbers were a little lower compared to last year due to hosting it on a long weekend but it still brought in a crowd.
Brown added the new CT scanner will make commutes easier for everyone in the area.
The golf tournament is held every year at the start of August and the funds made from the tournament will continue to go to businesses in Smithers to benefit the town.
