A snowfall warning has been issued for North Coast – Coastal Sections.
Environment Canada says a system tracking down from Alaska will bring a dumping of snow for the coastal areas.
The forecast suggests that the City of Prince Rupert will see snow mixed with rain that will give totals of 10 cm tonight and 5 cm tomorrow.
Higher elevations and areas along the Skeena River Valley can expect up to 10-15 cm of snow tonight and another 5 cm tomorrow.
Officials are urging motorists to check the conditions before heading out and consider canceling plans if it’s too poor to travel.
The snow will continue through Saturday with the accumulations not expected to be major.
