The Soda Creek Band are asking visitors on their land to refrain from picking mushrooms or starting camp fires.
Following heavy impact from last year’s wildfires, the Band has noticed multiple instances of people trespassing on the Deep Creek Reserve to pick mushrooms.
The harvesting of any materials on Reserve land is strictly prohibited for anything other than Traditional Use purposes.
There have also been reports of campfires in the area, dispite a fire ban being currently in place.
The Band are asking people to stop disrupting the land so that it can continue to recover from the devastating effects of last year’s fires.
