Terrace is now home to a new breast cancer screening unit.
Northern Health’s Suzanne Campbell says the new mammography machine at Mills Memorial Hospital will give patients faster results.
The older machine used film to get the image compared to the new machine that takes them digitally.
Campbell says the images will have improved quality to give better results.
The updated mammography unit is worth $1.2-million with funding provided by the province.
Northern Health says this is the first day with the new unit up and running and the project was a few weeks ahead of schedule.
