The Moricetown Band says the Two Mile area is being evacuated because of a burst beaver dam.
Chief Duane Mitchell says Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue members safely rescued people in seven homes that were cut off because of the flooding.
He says no other evacuations are happening at this time and adds the band will keep everyone updated about any changes.
He also notes anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to call the band office or keep an eye out on their Facebook page
The flooding has also reduced Highway 16 to single lane alternating traffic 2 kilometres west of Moricetown.
Heavy rain is also putting other regions under flooding pressure.
The River Forecast Centre has put the Bulkley River under a flood watch.
Officials say up to 60 millimetres of rain could fall in the Bulkley Valley by this evening.
They say snowmelt could also trigger water levels to rapidly increase.
According to Environment Canada, the rain is expected to die down sometime Saturday.
