Two of three Wildfires under control while Tommy Lakes fire still concern

Wildfire crews got some assistance battling three major blazes in the province from the weather last night.

Evacuation orders have now been rescinded for the Allie Lake wildfire, which along with the Xusum Creek fire, is now 35 percent contained.

The Tommy Lakes fire north of Fort St John, however, is still causing problems for crews.

The fire grew again overnight and now covers 195 square kilometres and is only 10 percent contained.

Nearly 140 firefighters are now battling the North Peace fire and are currently beginning to conduct small controlled burns in an attempt to keep the flames away from oil and gas operations.
