A wildfire burning 70 kilometres southwest of Dease Lake has grown significantly since it was first discovered Monday.
The BC Wildfire Service says the Muddy Lake fire on the northeast side of the Tahltan River is now estimated at 150 hectares compared to 25 hectares when it was first mapped.
There are ten firefighters, two officers, and a helicopter at the scene with 34 more firefighters on the way and support from air tankers.
Officials say the fire is still mainly burning in grass and is not a threat to public safety.
Smoke is visible in the Telegraph Creek area.
