A winter storm warning has been issued for North Coast inland sections.
Enviorment Canada says 5 to 10 cm of snow has fallen over Stewart last night and an additional 30 to 40 cm of snow is expected by the end of tonight.
They say Terrace and Kitimat can expect lesser amounts of 10 to 20 cm.
The warm up will eventually bring the temperatures above freezing on Saturday, with the snow switching to rain.
They say some areas could see a period of freezing drizzle during the transition.
Officials say driving conditions will be hazardous during the storm and are asking motorists to consider canceling if it’s not necessary to head out.
