Testing of the new Wireless Emergency Alert system has been taking place accross the country the past few days and today is BC’s turn.
The National Alert Ready Program and Emergency Management BC will a test emergency alert to all wireless devices in the province at 1:55 this afternoon.
The government believes the text message alert system is a large step in improving the safety of residents in emergency situations.
