Northwest drivers should expect some very slippery conditions Thursday.
Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Terrace and Kitimat.
Forecasters say warm, moist air from a Pacific frontal system is moving over some arctic air, causing the freezing rain.
The freezing rain is expected to change to rain near Kitimat by the afternoon as the temperature warms up, but freezing rain will continue in the Terrace area into Thursday night.
The Ministry of Transportation is also reporting conditions of freezing rain along Highway 16 between Terrace and Smithers.
Drivers are advised to slow down and use extra caution.
