Police have a 23 year-old man in custody after a pedestrian was hit and pinned to the hood of a car Friday in the South Cariboo.
Likely RCMP were called shortly before 10 a.m. to say that a local man had been struck by a vehicle. The man clinged to the hood of the car until he was able to get off after two-and-a-half blocks.
Shortly after, Williams Lake RCMP were notified about a Chrysler Intrepid with stolen plates heading their way along Highway 97.
Mounties pulled over the vehicle shortly after 1:00 pm at Lac la Hache and arrested the male driver and a female passenger.
Williams Lake RCMP say 23 year old Jared Ingle, who they describe as a prolific offender, has been charged with:
- Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
- Drive While Disqualified
- Resist a Peace Officer
- Break and Enter
- Assault with a Weapon
- Utter Threats to Cause Death
- Dangerous Driving
Mounties say 29 year old Karla Mindel of Williams Lake has been charged with Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.
RCMP say a search of the vehicle turned up prohibited weapons, ammunition, and material suspected to be cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine.
Both Mindel and Ingle are in custody and are expected to appear in court Monday, January 8.
