The Terrace RCMP says distracted driving and inattention are some of the top contributing factors in local crashes.
The detachment has just released the results of its holiday road safety campaign that saw over 200 vehicles checked.
The extra enforcement saw 21 tickets, three suspensions, two prohibited drivers, and one arrest over the course of eight road checks.
Inspector Sydney Lecky says road safety remains a priority for the detachment and drivers should expect more enforcement focused on distracted driving this year.
Speeding, and drug or alcohol-impaired driving will also continue to be on the radar.
