Premier John Horgan appears to be doing his best to shore up LNG prospects for BC during his current Asian trade mission, despite concerns expressed by Green Party leader Andrew Weaver.
Horgan says he’s following up with the joint venture partners involved with the proposed LNG Canada project near Kitimat.
Earlier this week, Green Party Leader Andrew Weaver threatened to bring down the NDP government if it continued to develop LNG prospect, calling it contrary to cutting carbon emissions.
Horgan says he understands and agrees with Weaver’s passion to move toward climate solutions, but he also has a job as Premier.
Horgan told reporters on a conference call from South Korea Friday that he plans to sit down with Weaver for more meetings when he returns.
