Seabridge Gold Inc has started logging the site of a permanent camp for its KSM mining project northwest of Stewart.
The company says about nine hectares of timber will be cleared in the Mitchell Valley to make way for future installation of the year-round camp, laydown area, helipad, and water treatment plant.
The work was contracted to a Terrace-based company.
Seabridge says the camp will support ongoing exploration and the start of larger work programs to advance the project.
The company is still seeking a joint venture partner in the mining project, which it says is one of the largest undeveloped gold deposits in the world.
