A Calgary-based company says construction on its proposed cannabis growing facility in Telkwa is leafing out.
Maple Leaf Green World says the foundation of the operation is complete and work on the building structure is underway.
The company has leased 30 acres of land from Woodmere nursery for the project, which will eventually produce 5400 kilograms of dry cannabis in its first phase.
Construction of the building is expected to take about one month, afterwhich interior installations at the plant will begin.
Maple Leaf Green says a time lapse camera will be installed at the site so that building progress can be viewed.
