An early morning raid on two homes by Prince Rupert RCMP turned up about $40,000 worth of drugs Tuesday.
The Crime Reduction Unit, Plain Clothes Section, and other officers simultaneously searched two residences in the 800 block of Lotbiniere Street at about 5:30 a.m.
RCMP located and seized:
- 9 ounces of cocaine
- 24 grams of crack cocaine
- 9.62 ounces of marijuana
- 2.5 ounces of marijuana resin
- packaging materials
- scales
- approximately $7,000.00 cash
RCMP arrested ten people for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
“This is a significant seizure removing a large amount of drugs off of our streets. These homes were in a close proximity to a school, which can pose a threat to our youth,” says Acting Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant Dave Uppal in a news release.
RCMP say the investigation is ongoing.
