The BC government is launching a new long-haul bus service to replace discontinued Greyhound routes in northern BC.
BC Bus North launches June 4th with two round trips a week between Prince Rupert and Prince George, Prince George and Valemount, and Prince George and Fort St. John.
Transportation Minister Claire Travena says the service will be a one-year pilot with plans for a long-term solution.
BC Transit will operate the service with Pacific Western Transportation at an estimated cost of two million dollars.
One-way fares will be $35 or $45 dollars depending on the route and must be paid for by credit card.
