BC’s new northern bus service to fill the gap left by Greyhound starts Monday.
The first scheduled departure on the Northwest run will leave Prince George Thursday at 8 a.m. and arrive in Prince Rupert at 7:50 that evening. A full breakdown of the schedules is available here.
BC Transit Interim president and CEO Erinn Pinkerton says the BC Bus North routes will be served by four, 45 foot coach buses.
Transportation Minister Claire Trevena was asked about whether the mandatory use of credit cards could be a barrier to those relying on the service.
Skeena Liberal MLA Ellis Ross worries that the credit card requirement could cause barriers to low-income riders that may not have access to credit or any other transportation.
Trevena says while transit is working on a solution, for now, a credit card will be the only way to book.
