The Prince Rupert Port Authority has unveiled the next phase in the Fairview Terminal expansion project.
Phase 2B will see the Canada’s second largest container terminal, the DP World Fairview installation, increase annual throughput.
Capacity will increase to 1.8 million Twenty Foot Equivalent Units by its 2022 completion.
The phase will include the addition of 3 new cranes, a container yard expansion, and the relocation of multiple buildings and gates.
Phase 2B will also see a dock rail expansion and a new connection to the Ridley Connector.
The project is expected to add 300 new full time positions.
Phase 2B is set to begin in mid 2019.
