A group of 223 scientists across 9 countries have sent a letter to BC pleading with the government to do more to protect the province’s temperate rain forests.
The letter claims that BC’s rain forests are amongst the most rare and biologically important places in the world, and says that immediate action is needed to ensure they stay that way.
According to the scientists, BC’s forests play a huge role in limiting the effects of global warming due to their immaculate ability to absorb large amounts of atmospheric carbon.
Actions suggested in the letter include limiting logging and human interaction.
