More than 90 firefighters are continuing to battle the growing blaze that has forced the evacuation of Telegraph Creek.
The Alkali Lake fire has now grown to 9 thousand hectares as 10 helicopters and 17 units of heavy machinery are on site to assist firefighters.
According to information officer Heather Rice, crews were able to limit the damage overnight, keeping the structure loss at 27.
Rice says crews will continue to direct their focus toward protecting infrastructure.
She also believes that, if it hasn’t already happened, a merger with the 19 thousand hectare South Stikine fire is imminent.
As of this moment, there is no evacuation alert for Dease Lake, despite rumors of one.
