Additional criminal charges have been announced against the former mayor of Burns Lake.
Special Prosecutor Leonard Doust has approved further sex-related charges against Luke Strimbold involving three additional complainants.
A statement from the BC Prosecution says Doust has also approved the majority of the initial charges which are included on a 29-count direct indictment filed today in BC Supreme Court in Smithers.
Doust did not approve a charge involving one of the alleged complainants as it did not meet the charge assessment standard.
Strimbold is scheduled to make his first appearance on the direct indictment October 1st in Smithers.
The former mayor was arrested and release in early February under strict conditions.
