Extreme winds caused multiple fires in the Bulkley-Nechako to grow overnight.
According to information officer Brian Hearnden, the conditions are not expected to let up today, and may actually worsen.
Two evacuation orders were expanded overnight in the region.
The Island Lake wildfire, which has been the quickest growing fire in the region, now has an evacuation zone that includes two islands to the east of Francois Lake.
Meanwhile, the Verdun fire also forced an expanded evacuation order and alert radius southwest of Grassy Plains.
The Francois Lake Ferry will be running 24 hours a day to assist in evacuation efforts.
