Residents near Braun’s Island in Terrace were awoken to a series of loud bangs last night, followed by a stack of flames.
The Terrace Fire Department and RCMP responded to the fire at the McPherson Trucking Company on Doll Road at around 10:30 last night.
RCMP proceeded to set up a baricade on Archer Avenue near Heppel Avenue as firecrews dealt with the blaze late in to the night.
According to Dave Jepsen from the Terrace Fire Department, the building was already fully engulfed when crews arrived.
Jepsen says crews were on site working to extinguish the blaze until 8:30 this morning.
While the owner was able to save some cars inside the building, others have ben reported damaged thought the extent or cost of damages is not yet known.
No one was injured as a result of the fire and crews are continuing to investigate the cause.
