Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen is calling yesterday’s Federal Court of Appeal decision to halt construction on the Trans Mountain Pipeline a win for Indigenous rights and the protection of BC’s coasts.
Cullen says it is unacceptable that the government neglected its constitutional requirement to consult First Nations on the project.
According to Cullen, the decision exposes the government’s hollow promises and a reckless decision to put taxpayers on the hook for billions of dollars.
Cullen is calling for the government to cancel the project completely or risk wasting more public money.
