An administrator with the Nechako Lakes School District has been recognized with a prestigious national education award.
Leona Prince, District Principal of Aboriginal Education with School District 91, has won Indspire’s 2018 Guiding the Journey: Indigenous Educator Award for leadership.
Prince, who is a member of the Lake Babine Nation, is among ten people from across Canada to receive the honour aimed at celebrating Indigenous Educators.
District 91 Superintendent Manu Madhok says Prince is an outstanding educator and educational leader and the district is proud to call her one of their own.
