Community and modernization are the key themes for the newly renovated House of Cedar trades training facility at Coast Mountain College.
Renovations on the building, originally built in 1970, wrapped up today as the college celebrated the official unveiling of the facility.
A new state-of-the-art welding facility as well as upgraded equipment and revamped classroom design highlight the 18.4 million dollars in upgrades.
According to Coast Mountain College President Ken Burt, the upgrades were key to bringing the college in to the twenty first century and giving students training on the newest industry standard equipment.
President Burt went on to say that the upgrades will allow for a 20 percent increase in training capacity and spots for up to 429 new students.
