Terrace is set to receive one of 19 plaques from the BC Labour Heritage Centre commemorating the achievements of workers in the province.
Terrace’s plaque will honour the Terrace Teachers’ Strike of 1981, which Teachers’ Union President Mike Wen describes as leading the way in transforming the union.
The strike took place a full 6 years before teachers won the right to strike.
A plaque dedication will be takin place tomorrow at 3:30 at the Terrace Sportsplex to honour the occasion.
