Dog owners in Prince Rupert now have a new area for their furry friends to explore freely.
A new, fenced-in, leash-free, dog park has opened up at the McKay Street Park with the goal of creating a safer and more welcoming space for pet owners.
The park makes use of a number of recycled materials from the Public Works yard including industrial tires, a decommissioned fire hydrant, ramps, and more.
A fenced-in enclosure at the entrance will allow for safe leashing and de-leashing of pets.
Owners will be required to disposes of waste, ensure dogs are in the care of a competent adult at all times, and supervise any minors brought in to the park.
