Pollution is clogging the air in Burns Lake.
Northern Health and the environment ministry have issued an air quality advisory for the community because of high levels of fine particulate.
Exposure to fine particulate is of particlar concern for infants, the elderly and those who have diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
Woodstove use is prohibited within the Village of Burns Lake until the advisory is lifted, unless it is the only source of heat.
The ministry says pollution levels are expected to remain high for a couple of days.
An air quality advisory was also issued for Vanderhoof.
