The Gitxsan Development Corporation says a proposed pellet plant in Hazelton is getting closer to reality.
President and CEO Rick Connors says they’re hoping to announce a Final Investment Decision on the $50 million dollar facility by the first quarter of 2019.
Connors says construction would start immediately after a positive FID with shovels in the ground right away.
Pellet production would get underway by the second quarter of 2020
The facility would manufacture 100,000 tonnes of torrefied pellets a year and create about 45 full-time jobs and another 45 indrect jobs.
