A new cell tower will finally bring modern cell service and enhanced connectivity to the Witset area.
Construction, which began in September, is almost complete on a new cell tower in Witset made possible by a partnership between the First Nation, Rogers Communication, and the Northern Development Initiative Trust.
Once complete, the new tower will bring phone, text, high-speed internet, and 4G network service to more than 5 thousand residents in the Smithers- New Hazelton corridor.
The tower also brings increased safety to those travelling along Highway 16 who would have been without cell or data service for a large stretch of the infamous highway.
