A 75 year-old American man is dead following a crash between Terrace and Prince Rupert earlier this week.
Terrace RCMP say they were called out to a report of single vehicle crash at 12:40 Tuesday afternoon near the 90 km marker of Highway 16 west.
Terrace fire crews managed to free the man from the vehicle, but he died of his injuries on the way to hospital.
A dog in the vehicle was not injured.
Reports say the vehicle was heading east when it passed another vehicle, went into the ditch, and then struck the rockface near the Exchamsiks River Bridge.
RCMP say driving conditions were reported to be foggy and wet at the time of the collision.
