A new CT Scanner is on the way afterall for the Bulkley Valley District Hospital in Smithers.
Smithers City Council unanumously voted on Tuesday to stall a bylaw which had put the scanner project in jeopardy.
The bylaw in question would have forced Northern Health to install a number of offsite drainage and sidewalk improvements in order to bring in the scanner.
When the bylaw was originally posed, a motion to waive the costs for Northern Health was posed, but ultimately defeated.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, Mayor Taylor Bachrach brought the motion back, this time to be passed unanimously.
