Northern Health is kicking off the new year by welcoming three new board members, two of Indigenous descent.
Patricia Sterritt, of the Hartley Bay Gitga’at Tribe has previously served on the Hartley Bay Band Council, and 10 years as director of social services for the North Coast Tribal Council.
Sterritt represented the primary point of contact with provincial and federal agencies.
Wilfred Adam served 17 years a Chief across his 27 years representing the Lake Babine Nation.
He is also a six time electee as Commissioner of the BC Treaty Commission.
And John Kurjata is a Dawson Creek based accountant who has served on the Lake View Credit Union Board of Directors since 2015, and the Northern Lights College board since 2011.
In total, there will be 14 new members joining various Health Authority Boards across BC in the new year.
