More students will now be eligible to be rewarded for their dedication to reconciliation and inclusion.
As of this year, students in both diploma and degree programs will, for the first time, be eligible to receive the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal.
Previously, only students enrolled in vocational and career programs of less than 2 years were eligible for the awards.
There are three separate award streams for students to qualify for: diversity and inclusion, democracy and citzenship, and reconciliation.
Nominees are chosen by their post-secondary institution, with medals being handed out at either sprind or fall convocation.
