A ratified agreement has been reached between the Nurses Bargaining Association and the province under BC’s Sustainable Services Negotiating Mandate.
Approximately 44 thousand registered, psychiatric, and licensed practical nurses are covered under the agreement.
Nurses working in hospitals, long-term care, community and public health, home support, and mental health facilities all fall under the scope of the deal.
As part of the three year deal, workers will see a general wage increase of 2 percent per year, modernized staffing language to provide clarity and certainty, and a streamlined process to addressing challenges in the workplace.
The deal will take effect on April 1st and run until March 31st of 2022.
