British Columbians are healthy… for the most part, according to the province’s health officer, Doctor Bonnie Henry.
Doctor Henry released a report today which highlighted a few of the areas where British Columbians need to improve health-wise, ultimately making 7 recommendations.
According to Doctor Henry, the biggest concerns are: disparities in life expectancy between local health areas, early childhood development, hazardous drinking behaviours, and fruit and vegetable consumption.
Most of the recommendations are targeted towards eliminating regional disparities in health, as well as on recognizing other specific needs such as income, housing, and even gender-specific requirements.
Some of the recommendations also focus on better health monitoring, environmental monitoring, and preventing injuries and illnesses.
