More than 20 organizations in northern BC will be receiving funding from the province’s community gaming grants.
All of the organizations have a focus on public safety and environmental conservation.
In Terrace, the Skeena Volunteer Ski Patrol Society and Terrace Search and Rescue will split 85 thousand dollars in funding.
Prince Rupert will see the Marine Rescue Society benefit from a 38,500 dollar grant.
16,500 in funding will go to the Kitimat Marine Rescue Society.
And Smithers will see 76 thousand go towards Bulkley Valley Search and Rescue, and the Bulkley Valley Amateur Radio Society.
Burns Lake and Houston will see projects benefit from 82 thousand dollars in funding, while the Village of Queen Charlotte will also receive 13 thousand in funding.
Six projects between Williams Lake and Quesnel will garner more than 220 thousand dollars in funding, and Prince George alone will see six projects for 190 thousand.
In total 265 organizations in BC will benefit from more than 10 million dollars in grant funding.
