Ridership more than tripled in the second year of the Highway 16 Transportation Action Plan.
Celebrating its second anniversary, the plan has provided safe inter-community travel to roughly 18 thousand passengers, up from 5 thousand in the first year.
Over its second year, the Plan helped fund nearly 20 all weathe shelters along its routes, added and launched the community vehicle program in 12 communities, and added new Indigenous driver training programs.
Routes are now provided between Smithers and Witset, Burns Lake and Smithers, Burns Lake and Prince George, Hazelton and Terrace, and Hazleton and Smithers.
The Burns Lake to Prince George trip remains the most popular, with 390 riders per month on average.
