You know it’s cold in Prince Rupert when people take to lakes in skates.
But the City is reminding people to be cautious if they plan on lacing up on local bodies of water.
Officials say just because some people may be enjoying the ice, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe to join them.
The Red Cross recommends a minimum thickness of 8 inches to accommodate multiple people on frozen lakes and ponds.
