Telkwa Mayor Brad Layton is leading an attempt to bring better access to forestry information to the north.
Layton says that communication between the province and communities has been detereorating since 2017.
In 2017, the province stopped funding the Omineca Beetle Action Coalition.
Layton’s proposal to Forest Minister Doug Donladson is to have someone come and update regional districts so that they can, in turn, update their communities.
Donaldson says he is working on Layton’s request for better information sharing, but will be sending a staffer to present to the regional district.
