It’s a new way for Prince Rupert residents to have their say on public policy.
The City has launched Rupert Talks, an online engagement portal to collect feedback from citizens on everything from downtown revitalization to the 2019 budget.
To start with, the platform will have surveys and information available about those issues as well as emergency preparedness, recreation services, and current applications for Cannabis retail locations in Prince Rupert.
To get people interested, all those who register within the next 60 days will be entered into a draw for a $100 grocery gift card.
The City says the new portal won’t replace the City’s official consultation processes or face to face communications, but will help supplement how information is collected.
Eighty per cent of the cost of the project is covered by a grant provided by the BC Smart Communities Pilot funding program.
