After a 20 year absence, the Canadian Snowbirds are set to make their return to Terrace next year.
During a presentation to City Council yesterday, Northwest Regional Airshow organizer Steve Pereira, announced the famed fliers’ participation in the show.
Formerly a regular occurance, the 2020 edition of the event will be the first airshow held in Terrace since 2004.
Joining the Snowbirds will be the Sky Hawks Parachute Demo team, and the CF-18 Hornet Jet, among many others.
Pereira’s visit to Council was an attempt to secure a letter of support to host the event in the city; the final step to fill One Canadian Air Division’s list of criteria.
Council unanimously voted to write the letter.
If approved, the proposed date for the show would be July 29th, right before Riverboat Days, though that date is subject to change.
