Terrace City Council have voted to not to enforce a bylaw restricting Sunday construction on an affordable housing project in the city.
Originally, construction on the 52 unit modular housing project on Olson Avenue was supposed to have wrapped up by December 31st.
But a combination of delivery delays, soild conditions, and winter weather has forced the extension of the project.
Last week, the process of placing the modular units began, and is projected to be complete by February 15th.
In order to keep the project close to schedule, Council have decided not to enforce certain construction noise complaint bylaws in the area.
As a result, until March 1st, all noise complaints received due to Sunday construction between 7:00 in the morning and 8:00 at night will be ignored.
