For the first time ever, the Skeena-Bulkley Valley Federal Conservatives will be represented by a Kitimat resident.
Though, with two Kitimat residents on the ballot, we already knew that going in to this week’s elections.
We now know that Claire Rattée will be that representative as she outpaced Jody Craven.
Rattée is the co-owner of DivineInk, and served as a District of Kitimat councillor from 2014-2018, the youngest in the District’s history.
Rattée says she wants to reverse the negative stigma around her party and appeal to current MP Nathan Cullen’s voter base.
As for Cullen, the NDP incumbent has yet to announce whether or not he intends to run for yet another term.
