The City of Prince Rupert is asking residents to slow down and drive with caution.
Officials say roads and streets are extremely icy and crews have been out since early Wednesday morning putting salt and sand down.
The city is advising drivers to plan for additional time to get where they’re going.
The transportation ministry also issued a travel advisory for Highway 16 on Haida Gwaii due to slippery conditions, but it has since been lifted.
