School District 54 will have a new man at the helm come April 1st.
Michael McDiarmid will take over for outgoing superintendent Chris van der Mark, who is making the move to the Cariboo-Chilcotin.
McDiarmid has served as assistant superintendent to van der Mark for the past 8 years.
Prior to his time in the Bulkley Valley, the new super filled various roles within the Nechako School District, including a stint as School District 91’s principal of Aboriginal Education.
In a media release, the District calls McDiarmid a strong leader, with strong values and beliefs for improving student success.
As for ex-super Chris van der Mark, he will transition to fill the same role for School District 27.
