An attempted murder trial nearly a year and a half in the making will inch closer to its conclusion in Smithers today.
Yesterday, the Crown wrapped up their case relating to an October 2017 attempted murder north of Hazelton.
Ronald Fowler is being charged with allegedly shooting George Parent on Fowler’s Two Mile property.
Video footage from four cameras on Fowler’s property recorded more than 20 video clips reviewed during testimonies yesterday.
Louis Parent, the victim’s brother, also testified that George and Ronald had had a falling out regarding farm equipment the year before the incident.
Louis had given Fowler permission to collect wasp hives on the Parent’s property on the day of the alleged shooting.
He also said he could not recall whether or not he had informed his brother of this.
Today, the defense is set to make their case, with closing arguments coming on Tuesday and with a charge being submitted to the jury on Wednesday.
