Ferry service will be restored to a number of routes cut in 2014 as of April 1st, but the two northern routes will have to wait a bit longer.
Earlier in the year, BC Ferries announced their intent to restore service to the previously slashed routes.
However, according to Transportation Minister Claire Trevena, the north will miss out on launch day.
Trevena says that the delay is due to the implementation of operational changes, and the hiring of new crews.
Eventually, service will be fully restored to Route 10, from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert, and to Route 26 between Skidegate and Alliford Bay.
In total, 10 routes will see service restored in some capacity, leading to over 27 hundred additional round trips.
